SUGAR LAND, TX — Community members gathered at the Sugar Land Branch Library on Monday, June 30th, for a special Legislative Update hosted by State Representative Dr. Suleman Lalani of District 76. The two-hour townhall event, held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, provided constituents with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with their elected official and learn about key highlights from the 89th Texas Legislature.
Dr. Lalani, who has been an active voice in healthcare, education, and economic issues, presented an in-depth overview of legislative achievements and challenges faced during the recent session. Topics included funding for public schools, property tax relief, mental health services, infrastructure development, and support for small businesses.
The event also featured a lively Q&A session, during which attendees voiced their concerns on local and state matters—from transportation issues in Fort Bend County to access to affordable healthcare. Dr. Lalani took time to personally address each question, reinforcing his commitment to transparency and accountability.
