Fort Bend Hosts Largest Annual Interfaith Iftar Dinner with Elected Officials.

Sugar Land, TX – The Fifth Annual Fort Bend Interfaith Iftar Dinner brought together community leaders, elected officials, and faith representatives at Marriott Sugar Land Town Square for an evening of unity, reflection, and interfaith dialogue. The event, recognized as the largest Iftar dinner in the region, served as a testament to Fort Bend’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Organized by PABPA (Pakistani American Business & Professional Association) and supported by Fort Bend Volunteers, the dinner was co-hosted by Haroon Moghal, Sara Khan, and Saba June. It operated on a first-come, first-served basis, with attendees checking in from 4:30 PM, while the main program commenced at 5:00 PM sharp.

Congressman Al Green, one of the main guests and speakers, delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the strength found in diversity and the importance of building bridges across communities. Texas State Representative Ron Reynolds also shared his thoughts on the significance of interfaith gatherings, stating, “I was honored to share remarks and co-host the 5th Annual Fort Bend Iftar with Haroon Moghal, Sara Khan, Saba June, and other community leaders. I was proud to share the stage with Congressman Al Green and other elected officials. Our diversity is OUR strength!”

Event coordinator Haroon Moghal also addressed the attendees, expressing deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the evening a success. He acknowledged the unwavering support from community members, volunteers, and sponsors, highlighting how such gatherings foster greater understanding and unity among different faiths and cultures.

With sponsorship from respected community figures and businesses such as Naushad Kermally, Elite Indo-Pak Restaurant, Aga’s Restaurant, Ali Sheikhani, Omar Khawaja Law Offices, Pervez Jasani, and many others, the Iftar dinner was a collective effort reflecting Fort Bend’s inclusive spirit.

The event concluded with the Maghrib prayer at Town Center Sugar Land at 8:00 PM, led by Qari Hashim, marking a moment of reflection and gratitude.

As Fort Bend continues to grow as a diverse and dynamic community, the Annual Interfaith Iftar Dinner remains a cornerstone event, reinforcing the message that faith, respect, and togetherness are key to building a stronger society.
