The bustling energy of Karachi’s bazaars and food streets has found a home in Houston with the launch of Zamzama Bazaar, a new shopping destination aimed at empowering small Pakistani-American businesses. The initiative, spearheaded by prominent Pakistani-American businessman and newly elected Constable Ali Sheikhani, builds on the success of his earlier venture, the Boat Basin Food Street.

At the inauguration of Zamzama Bazaar, Sheikhani shared his vision:

Our goal is to provide affordable stall-like shops to small business owners, enabling them to thrive and contribute to the community’s economic growth

Located adjacent to the thriving Boat Basin Food Street, Zamzama Bazaar aims to create a vibrant cultural and commercial hub for Houston’s Pakistani-American community.

Renowned Pakistani-American entrepreneur Shaukat Dhanani, who owns thousands of fast-food franchises across the U.S., praised Sheikhani’s efforts, saying,

“Ali Sheikhani’s initiative to support small businesses is commendable, and we are fully committed to supporting this cause.”

The event also saw heartfelt gratitude from small business owners who have started their ventures at Zamzama Bazaar. They lauded Sheikhani for his dedication to fostering community growth and providing accessible opportunities for entrepreneurs.

With plans to include popular Pakistani brands and food chains, both Zamzama Bazaar and Boat Basin Food Street are set to become iconic landmarks, showcasing the spirit of Karachi in the heart of Houston.
