Houston, TX – The Houston community is mourning the tragic loss of Abdul Rahman Niazi, a 34-year-old former Afghan Marine and father of five, who was stabbed to death in his office last Wednesday. In response, friends, family, and well-wishers have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his grieving family.
A Life Dedicated to Service.
Niazi, a double amputee, fought alongside U.S. forces in Afghanistan before immigrating to the United States. Despite his injuries, he dedicated his life to helping fellow Afghan refugees, running Hewad Multi-Services LLC in southwest Houston, where he provided immigration assistance to those in need.
A Devastating Crime.
Authorities arrested 37-year-old Masiullah Sahil, who has been charged with murder. Prosecutors revealed that Sahil allegedly confessed to Niazi’s wife, admitting to the killing. During a court hearing, they also stated that Sahil was frustrated with his refugee status, though the exact motive remains under investigation.

Community Steps Up.
In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Niazi’s widow and five young children cope with funeral costs and living expenses. The campaign aims to ease the financial burden on the family and ensure they receive the support they need.
The Houston Afghan community, as well as people across the city, have come together to remember Niazi as a dedicated soldier, a loving father, and a pillar of the community.
How to Help.
Those wishing to support the Niazi family can donate to the GoFundMe campaign, which has already begun receiving contributions from compassionate individuals.
As the investigation continues, Niazi’s friends and loved ones remain focused on seeking justice for him while ensuring his family is cared for.
