Houston, Texas — A 40-foot humanitarian aid container packed with winter clothing, bedding, blankets, jackets, and essential household supplies has been dispatched from Houston as part of the Pakistan Floods Relief and Rehabilitation Campaign 2025. The shipment, valued at over one million dollars, reflects the generosity and unity of the Pakistani American community in Houston.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between several major organizations, including the Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR), Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), the Pakistani American Association of Greater Houston (PAGH), the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America – South Texas Chapter (APPNA-STC), and the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA).

Together, these groups recently completed a highly successful fundraising campaign, collecting more than one million dollars in cash and in-kind donations for families impacted by severe flooding in Pakistan.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony, Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, Muhammad Aftab Chaudhary, praised the Houston community for its compassion and commitment to standing with Pakistan in difficult times. He highlighted the importance of unity and commended the partner organizations for their coordinated efforts in humanitarian service.

The event was organized and coordinated by community leader Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, who thanked all contributors and volunteers for their strong support. During the ceremony, Elias Chaudhary of HHRD provided a progress briefing, noting that nearly 100,000 people have already benefited from the joint relief and rehabilitation programs.

Additional remarks were delivered by partner representatives, including Moiz Khan (HHRD), Siraj Narsi (PAGH), Dr. Naveed Saqib (APPNA-STC), Dr. Yaqoob Sheikh (AFDR), and Saad Ansari (HHRD).

A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official departure of the aid container. Consul General Chaudhary, accompanied by HHRD leaders, took part in the send-off.

Organizers emphasized that this container represents just one part of a long-term plan to support Pakistan’s flood-affected communities. More aid deliveries, rehabilitation work, and reconstruction projects are already underway, demonstrating Houston’s continued commitment to helping rebuild lives.
