The Pakistan Consulate in Houston organized a special Thanksgiving Day ceremony to commemorate Pakistan’s resilience and response to external aggression. The event, marked with patriotism and solemn remembrance, brought together community members, consulate officials, and local leaders.
Consul General Aftab Sheikh led the ceremony by hoisting the national flag as the Pakistani national anthem played. The gathering also included prayers for the soldiers and civilians who lost their lives during recent conflicts. The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and was conducted by Vice Consul General Mr. Ashar.
Several prominent figures from the Pakistani-American community, including General Secretary of PAGH Aamir Zaidi, Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Asif Qadeer, Siraj Narsi, and Saeed Sheikh, attended the event to show their support and solidarity.
Speaking to local media outlets, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry emphasized the purpose of the ceremony. “Today is a day of gratitude—a moment to thank the Almighty for granting our nation the strength to stand firm in the face of adversity,” he said.
The event served as a reminder of national unity and the importance of honoring those who have sacrificed for the country’s peace and sovereignty
