Houston, TX – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers intercepted over 120 pounds of methamphetamine at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry on the Texas-Mexico border. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $1.1 million.

The incident occurred when a 21-year-old woman driving a 2014 Nissan was flagged for a secondary inspection at the Camino Real International Bridge. Using a combination of a drug-sniffing canine and advanced imaging technology, officers uncovered 43 packages of methamphetamine concealed within the vehicle’s panels. The driver was arrested, and the case is now under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations.

CBP officials lauded the interception as a critical step in disrupting drug trafficking networks and keeping dangerous substances out of U.S. communities. Pete Beattie, Port Director at Eagle Pass, emphasized the importance of such actions in denying criminal organizations their revenue sources.

This marks another significant drug bust along the Texas-Mexico border, highlighting ongoing efforts by CBP to combat narcotics smuggling through advanced technology and vigilant inspections.
