Houston, TX – April 3, 2025
Houston is now home to a breathtaking display of art and conservation as The Great Elephant Migration arrives in the city, featuring 100 life-sized elephant sculptures crafted by Indigenous artists from India. This global traveling exhibition, which started in 2024, has chosen Houston as its only Texas stop and one of just seven cities in the United States to host this spectacular installation.
From April 1 to April 30, visitors can explore the magnificent herds stationed throughout Hermann Park, with most sculptures located in The Commons, the park’s newest destination. Additional elephants can be spotted outside the Houston Museum of Natural Science and within the Texas Medical Center, making it a city-wide experience.
These stunning sculptures are more than just a visual marvel—they carry a powerful message about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting elephant habitats. Each piece is a testament to the craftsmanship of Indian artisans and serves as a call to action for global conservation efforts.
The Great Elephant Migration has captivated audiences worldwide, merging art, culture, and environmental awareness in a way that resonates with people of all ages. Houstonians and visitors alike are encouraged to take a walk through this immersive experience, snap photos, and reflect on the deeper meaning behind this global movement.
For those who want to witness this awe-inspiring exhibition, be sure to visit Hermann Park before the migration moves on to its next destination.
