Two Injured in Shooting at Katy McDonald’s After Teen Group Brawl, Deputies Say.

KATY, Texas – A violent altercation between two groups of teenagers led to a shooting at a McDonald’s on Fry Road in Katy on Sunday evening, leaving two people injured, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities reported that the incident began around 5:30 p.m. when a group of six or seven teenagers was inside the fast-food restaurant ordering food. A second group of two or three teenagers entered the McDonald’s, and tensions quickly escalated into a physical fight. The confrontation turned violent as multiple individuals fired gunshots both inside and outside the restaurant.

Two bystanders were struck by gunfire—a 25-year-old man and a 61-year-old man. Officials are still investigating whether they were directly involved in the fight. The younger victim is expected to survive, while the older man was last reported to be in surgery.

All individuals involved in the altercation fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Witnesses reported that one group left in a maroon SUV, while the other drove away in a white sedan. Deputies believe the suspects are between 16 and 20 years old.

Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the restaurant to identify those responsible. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
