SUGAR LAND, Texas — Ken Mathews, a candidate for Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 4, hosted a community meet-and-greet Wednesday evening in Sugar Land, bringing together residents, community members and supporters for an opportunity to discuss local issues and share ideas about the future of Fort Bend County.
The event was held at Ailing’s Chinese Bistro on September 9 and provided an informal setting for attendees to meet Mathews and learn more about his campaign.
During the gathering, Mathews emphasized that his vision is focused on serving all residents rather than representing only one community or group. He spoke about the importance of bringing people together and making sure different voices are heard in the decision-making process.

Mathews also highlighted the role of political leadership in creating meaningful change at the local level. He said that people involved in politics have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to work toward positive changes that can benefit the broader community.
The evening also gave attendees an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns directly with the candidate, reflecting the campaign’s message of listening to residents and building the future through community involvement.
The meet-and-greet was supported by a host committee that included community and political figures, including former State Representative Jacey Jetton and Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers, among others.
As the campaign continues, Mathews is positioning his candidacy around inclusion, community engagement and service to the entire Fort Bend County Precinct 4 community.
